Privacy policy

The short version
You tell us personal things. We use them for one purpose: to write your report and, if you subscribe, to let your Guide coach you. We do not sell your data, we do not use your answers or conversations for advertising, and we do not share them with ad platforms. You can delete everything by emailing us.
What we collect
- Your first name, email address and country (to send your results and set your currency).
- Your quiz answers, including free-text answers, and the scores and report generated from them.
- If you subscribe to the Guide: your phone number (if you connect WhatsApp or SMS) and the content of your conversations.
- Payment details are handled by Stripe. We never see your card number.
- Basic technical data (pages visited, device type) via our own analytics and, if enabled, the Meta Pixel — which only ever receives page views and neutral product events, never your answers, scores or profile.
Consent for sensitive information
Your reflections about your life may be considered “sensitive” or “consumer health data” under some privacy laws (for example the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and Washington's My Health My Data Act). By ticking the box at the start of a quiz you consent to us collecting and using that information for the purposes described here. You can withdraw consent at any time by asking us to delete your data.
How we use it
- To generate your report and coach you, using third-party AI providers (currently OpenAI and/or Anthropic) under contracts that prohibit them training on your data.
- To email you your results, receipts and — only if you opted in — follow-ups about your results. Unsubscribe any time.
- To keep the service safe: if a conversation contains crisis language, it is flagged internally so we can improve our crisis protocol. It is never shared externally.
- In anonymised, aggregated form to improve the quizzes.
We will never: sell your data; use your answers or conversations to target ads to you or anyone else; share them with data brokers; or share them with your employer, insurer or anyone else without your explicit request or a legal requirement.
Who we share with
Only the service providers needed to run WayFinder: hosting and database, AI providers, Stripe (payments), our email platform, and Twilio/Meta (only if you choose to talk to your Guide by SMS or WhatsApp — note that WhatsApp messages are also subject to WhatsApp's own privacy terms). Each receives only what it needs.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while you have an account and for up to 12 months after your last activity, then delete or anonymise it. Email support@example.com from your sign-up address at any time and we'll delete everything within 14 days (Stripe keeps transaction records as required by law).
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, correct it, get a copy, or delete it. If you are in the EU/UK you also have the rights set out in the GDPR; if you are in Australia you can complain to the OAIC; if you are in a US state with a privacy law you may have additional rights including the right to opt out of sale/sharing (we don't do either). Write to support@example.com.
Age
WayFinder is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if you believe we have, email us and we'll delete it.
